About TTGAU

The Tanzania Tree Growers Associations Union (TTGAU) is a prominent member-based apex organization established in 2017. It acts as a unified platform to support, represent, and promote the social, economic, and environmental interests of small-scale forest and farm growers across Tanzania—with a particularly massive presence in the timber and commercial forestry hubs of the Southern Highlands (including Njombe, Iringa, Mbeya, and Songea).

Historically, commercial wood plantations in Tanzania were dominated by large state enterprises or massive multi-national corporations. TTGAU was formed to bridge the gap for independent local growers, who collectively manage a vast percentage of the country's planted forests.
